How would you describe your teaching style?
My teaching style is calming and nourishing, with attention to detail and intention for spaciousness to meet each moment with curiosity and compassion. I lead sessions that are rooted in the practice of mindfulness and embodied presence, informed by the ancient teachings of yoga and dharma coupled with modern understanding of anatomical alignment and integrity. Students can expect asana sequencing in my classes to layer progressively and build intelligently. My goal with teaching is to offer a safe and nurturing container for students to turn inward, listen deeply, and reconnect with their inner wisdom, embodying lovingkindness and compassion through it all.
Was there a moment when you knew that teaching yoga was for you?
I went into my first yoga teacher training at a time of major life transition with the intention to deepen my personal practice, and I came out of it with the calling to share the gifts of this practice with others. That was the first moment that I knew teaching yoga was for me, and that knowing has been repeatedly reinforced with every yoga session that I lead. As I navigate my daily life and find myself returning to the teachings of yoga and dharma again and again, I continue feeling inspired to hold space for others to more deeply cultivate self-understanding, align with their inner wisdom, and embody lovingkindness and compassion through it all.
What is your favorite class to teach at HAUM, and why?
One of my favorite classes to teach at HAUM is Slow Flow. Learning to move more slowly and mindfully has been a meaningful part of my personal journey of self-care, acceptance, and growth. It’s my honor to be able to hold space for others on their path of allowing for spaciousness to deepen their connection with their authentic self and cultivate awareness of each moment and the moments in between.
What is your favorite class to take at HAUM?
One of my favorite classes to take at HAUM is also Slow Flow, perhaps unsurprisingly given that it's my favorite class to teach :) I love that the class moves at a slower pace with room to practice presence, and I often leave feeling more grounded, nourished, and with more capacity to attune to myself and others.
Is there a moment from teaching at HAUM Studios that has stayed with you?
Seeing the blissful faces and feeling the loving energy in the room at the end of the Slow Flow + Sound Bath classes I often get to teach at HAUM always leaves me feeling inspired.
What can students expect when they walk into one of your classes?
When walking into one of my classes, students can expect an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, supportive, and kind. During class, students can expect clear guidance, my calming presence, a focus on mindful movement with attention to detail, and intentional space to witness their inner landscape.
