How would you describe your teaching style?
Grounded and direct. I’ll meet you with strong, intelligent sequencing, but I’m just as interested in the pause between the poses — the moment you actually feel what’s happening. I don’t do spiritual bypassing or wellness-speak. My job is to help you get back into your body and stay there, even when it’s uncomfortable. Expect to work, and expect to be met as an adult who can handle the truth.
Was there a moment when you knew that teaching yoga was for you?
It happened in my first teacher training, in the middle of a practice-teaching session. I was up there guiding the room, and somewhere in it I realized I wasn’t performing or getting through it — I was genuinely enjoying it. The words came easily, the people in front of me had my full attention, and it just felt like the right place to be standing. No lightning bolt. Just a quiet, certain sense that this was mine to do.
What is your favorite class to teach at HAUM, and why?
Breathe and Flow, hands down. I get to slow people down and bring them into something I’m genuinely passionate about — breathwork — while still getting them moving in their bodies. That combination of breath and movement is where I feel most at home as a teacher.
What is your favorite class to take at HAUM?
Nidra, period. I love rest, and there’s nothing like being guided into it.
Is there a moment from teaching at HAUM Studios that has stayed with you?
The opening class, when we first unlocked the doors. Standing in that room watching it actually happen hit me hard — this thing we’d built was real, and it was finally here. That “woah, this is happening” feeling has stayed with me ever since.
What can students expect when they walk into one of your classes?
You’ll be met as you are — no performance required. Expect strong, deliberate movement, real stillness, and a room that feels alive rather than precious. I’ll ask you to work and I’ll ask you to be honest with yourself. You’ll leave more in your body than you came in.
Danni Pomplun teaches yoga as a practice of coming home to your body, not performing for anyone. His classes are grounded, direct, and built for people who want to actually feel something rather than bypass it. Expect strong, intelligent movement paired with moments of real stillness, and an atmosphere where you are allowed to be exactly where you are. Breathwork is where Danni feels most at home as a teacher, and his Breathe and Flow classes slow students down to explore the place where breath and movement meet. Off the mat, Danni is a men's work facilitator and coach, and that lens shows up in how he teaches: with honesty, presence, and zero tolerance for spiritual fluff. He is the owner of HAUM Studios and has spent years building spaces where people practice, not perform. In his classes you will be met as an adult who can handle the truth. You will work, you will pause, and you will leave more in your body than you came in.
